Ask the Expert: Safety and Independence Using Assistive Devices (2022)

The webinar offered practical advice for simplifying everyday tasks through adaptive equipment, covering techniques for zippers, shoes, clothing, and various bathroom, bedroom, walking aids, and medication organization systems to enhance safety and independence.
Moreover, the presentation discussed a range of technology and tools, including electronic medication dispensers, voice activation devices, adaptive keyboards, and safety devices, aiming to bolster independence and quality of life for individuals with diverse needs and abilities. It emphasized the importance of finding the right equipment tailored to individual requirements.
Lastly, the webinar touched on additional safety measures such as hip protectors and tracking devices for alert systems. It also provided insights into improving dictation quality and locating stores specializing in assistive devices, all in pursuit of ensuring the well-being and independence of individuals.
