September Symposium: Navigating Role Changes in Parkinson's (2022)
In this webinar, clinical counsellor Courtney Doherty addressed the impact of Parkinson's disease on relationships and role changes. She covered topics like grief, coping strategies including mindfulness and cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), adapting to new roles, communication techniques, and the significance of self-compassion. Courtney stressed the importance of acknowledging and processing emotions for healing and advocated for staying in the present moment to reduce anxiety.
