Caregiving Series: Resilience (2021)

In this webinar on caregiver resilience, Dr. Kaitlyn P. Roland, a research scientist at the Office of the Seniors Advocate and the Institute on Aging and Lifelong Health and Jolyon Hallows, a caregiver advocate and author, emphasized the importance of focusing on controllable actions and strengths when facing challenges. They also highlighted the significance of nurturing close relationships and seeking support in caregiving.

Encouraging participants to reflect on their strengths, establish supportive networks, and create care plans, the webinar aimed to promote self-care strategies for building resilience in caregivers. Additionally, it delved into the role of negative emotions, advocating for their harnessing rather than suppression, and underlining the importance of addressing them constructively to foster personal growth and well-being.
